Never mind just sorted it, turned out to be an "I D 10 T" error on my
part :)

Thanks

Subject: CA18DET weak spark.

Hey all,
Thanks for the help sourcing a replacement ECU for my
CA, I now have a further question, with the power on to the ecu I can
turn the engine over by hand and hear the injectors tick every 90 or so
degrees, I have pulled off one of the coils and earthed the plug onto
the head so I can see if there is a spark, there is a spark but it is
really weak. When coil ignitors (transistor packs) fail do they stop
working totally or is a weak spark a result? I have made up larger earth
straps to the inlet manifold and head and also made sure the ignitor is
earthed correctly. Any ideas? Another interesting thing I have found is
when I turn the engine over by hand I get a weak spark but when cranking
on the starter the weak spark goes completely.

Thanks in advance

Scott
