this might sound like a stupid question.....i know i know But can you put a better ratio say 5.1 in the original datsun 1600 diff housing ? or do you need to actually change the whole diff ?
two reasons for asking this question 1.0 I am still trying to keep my car historic (which means original housing, but not internals - go figure) 2.0 i have been told the other diffs are very heavy & can affect car balance anybody know or got an opinion ? ta Jeff Subject: RE: Installing Subaru LSD mark, ive looked at a Subaru R180 from a STI recently, my interest is whether the datsun r160 'axles' will fit the splines in the centre or whether i would have to have something made to work the 4.11 R180 LSD is only $750 (clutch packed) once i have a chance, my plan is to try some datto shafts on the r180 and see what fits can any one else shed some light on this? tim >From: "Mark Overend" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Installing Subaru LSD >Date: Thu, 03 Jun 2004 10:30:16 +1000 > >Has anyone put a Subaru lsd in their datto igot a r160 4.4 lsd on the >weekend and was wondering if anyone has installed >one themselves and what is required.
