Thanks Erroll, I will leave the exhaust at 2inch and maybe take out the
hot dog.
Cheers Mark

What you have would be fine for the 72 degree cam as that will only
run
up to around 6200 rpm. If you have a reasonable flowing system 2" is
adequate and a little quieter without significant power loss. We went
from 2" to 2 1/4" on a similar engine with no improvement at the top
end.

Subject: RE: Shockers

Thanks for the info on the shockers Errol, I'll get some prices on
Konis
and Bilsteins.I think red's are cheaper than yellows.I have another
question. I have just finished rebuilding a L20b and was wondering
what
exhaust configuration i should use, it has a 2 inch at the moment with
hot dog in the centre. Should i remove the hot dog and leave it two
inch
or should i put in a 2 1/4 with just a rear muffler. Engine has ported
big valve head, 72cam, 45webers, pacemaker extractors.Any info is
greatly appreciated. Cheers Marko

Bilsteins are still the best performers and also longest life shocks
for
my money. I have a set of shock on my sunny coupe that have been used
on
a stanza rally car for two seasons, then converted for road rates on a
road stanza. They were then revalved for race use on the shell when it
was turned into a club car, then again revalved for road/club level
use
on the sunny coupe. I originally purchased them in 1984.

They may cost more at the start, but they have outlasted many pairs of
other shocks. I have Koni sport adjustables and older "D" sport shocks
on other cars.
