Richard, The Galant was much more stable at high speed and had stiffer body in the rough. It didnt have the tight turn in ability of the lancer in very tight stuff though. I just preferred the longer Galant wheel base for my style.
My GB had 170 hp in 1984 and was a torque monster with the works number 5 cam.
If I didnt love my dattos so much, I could get into Mitsubishi's. I spent about six years doing development work on them :-)(

I still have nightmares about doing a 72 GB Galant up again and terrorising the forests.

Errol, in 1982 you could've bought a Commodore 64 (or XT 8086 IBM) with $599 - What would be it's value now?

I bought this for my rally galant in the 1980's and it cost me $550 from coltspeed, due to the falling yen vs $AUD. I am emotionally attached to it due to the cost. It will probaly be used to fly a datsun flag from on my coffin :-(
