Heath,
Is the piston in the master cylinder returning far enough to open the transfer port and return line pressure to atmospheric..
 
As you start to depress the master cylinder piston,. the transfer port is closed of and pressure can be generated by moving the piston. As the piston is returned to rest the transfer port must be exposed again to allow residual pressure to be bled of and the line pressure return to atmospheric. The brakes will work if the transfer is not being opened but will always drag.
 
If you look in the reservoir (with only a little fluid in it) as the piston returns to rest position you should see a small surge of fluid returning into the reservoir if the transfer port is being opened at the end of stroke.

hi all,
i have removed the residue valve and still have the same problems
after some heavy braking the brakes are staying on,
i checking for my reciept and if i can find it, i'm going to ring the brake
guys just incase it has a residue in the front as well?
any other options? the master is fully depressed,??
 
ps the car seemed to stop slightly better now with the residue removed
