Terry I am already with BMSC so I will ask the fellas there about it.
The car in question is not a daily driver or anything like that and due to my work locality, sydney, and type of work, RAN, I rarely have the time to use it. Therefore rather than letting the rego lapse I would like to have the option of actually driving it now and again.
I believe there is a nissan sport's owner club in velconnen. I am going to try them. Short of that I will check with rego ACT and ask them for a list of car clubs. My dad enquired with the ACT MG car club awhile ago and they seemed happy to have it. It would just be a shame to not be able to join a Nissan/Datsun car club.
So does everyone agree that it would be alright to join a NSW car club and have ACT restricted regO/

Mate I thought that it had to be CAMS or ASMF, but maybe not ??
I do know that you need to get a letter from the car club certifying that the car is over 30 years old.
Vehicle usage is restricted to driving to and from club events, mechanic & testing.
 
take your car for a trip somewhere and your driving unregistered.

when i approached Qld transport, they just said as long as it's a car club?

pretty much any CAMS or ASMF club should be able to do that for you........shouldnt they ?
That historic rego is pretty restrictive mate !

I am actually looking for a sanctioned club so I can get classic car rego for my datto. It is a stocker and rarely driven. silly to pay full rego.
