Hi
No need to get too specific about master cylinders for hydraulic handbrakes.
Basically you want a brake M/C that has a brake pipe screw fitting at the
entry and exit to the master cyl. These are designed for remote fluid
reserviors. Girlock and PBR make them.
Fit it by cutting the line to the rear leaving a generous amount of pipe to
bend upward through the transmission tunnel and onto the m/cyl. outlet.
Usually you need to make up a new inlet pipe from the brass union fitted on
the firewall to the inlet of the handbrake m/cyl., as the remaining pipe is
too short to reach the inlet side of the m/cyl.
M/C Diameter isnt critical but 3/4 inch would be adequate unless your using
big rear dual/quad piston calipers. Smaller diameter gives you more feel,
but this isnt necessary as basically you want to lock up the rears to start
the car rotating.

Since there's alot of rally experience/expertise on here, i thought i'd
ask what master cylinder a hydraulic handbrake uses?
I've heard that early land rover master cylinders are capable of it?
What have people used here?
