Hi, We are considering buying a memcached server with 192 GB of RAM.
Up to now the maximal amount of RAM we used for a single memcached server was 48 GB, so this is a big jump. I couldn't find previous experience reports about such big memcached instances. Is there any technical downside to using one such instance with so much RAM instead of splitting it across a few smaller servers? (redundancy is not an issue, we will have multiple servers anyway). Another question: does RAM speed make any noticeable performance difference, e.g. 800Mhz vs. 1333Mhz? Regards, Sagi
