The concert will be a salute to the Borsht Belt era, a time when thousands of Jews spent their summer vacations in the hotels, bungalow colonies, summer camps and "kochaleyns" in upstate New York. Starring the Catskills first lady of song Joanne Engel, the Emmy Award-winning comedy-emcee Fyvush Finkel, and featuring the Howard Leshaw Klezmer Orchestra, the evening will be a vintage Catskills show, lovingly recreated as if we were once again in the hotel theaters and "casinos" as they were called years ago. Tickets are $25. For more information call Ruth at (516) 569-1678 or email [email protected]. Sutton Place Synagogue is handicap accessible.
