MENDELE PERSONAL NOTICES & ANNOUNCEMENTS Date: Jan. 30, 2016
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text to victor.bers at yale.edu as plain text (no HTML, other coding, or attachments) and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. _______________________________________ From: Merle Bachman <[email protected]> Date: January 18, 2016 at 3:22:39 PM EST To: [email protected] Subject: Seeking Literary Heir or Executor Tayere Fraynt: I am working on a translation of Selected Poems of the Yiddish poet known as Rosa Nevadovska and am seeking her literary heir or executor. The poet was born in Bialystok and immigrated to the U.S. In 1928. She died in 1971 in Brooklyn. Her sister Sima Kaplan, who donated Nevadovska's archive to YIVO, died in 1978. The poet's full name was Zelda Rosa and she was also known for a time as Zelda Troulman (married name). I greatly appreciate any help you can give. Best, Merle L.
