Hi Sezen,

Thank you for your email.

On the term of "Perception", I used it to mean "observation" J.

Nevertheless, removing my ICANN hat (which I have been wearing for almost 6
months now) and wearing my old community hat ( which I wore for around 5
years prior to joining ICANN), I can tell you that folks from our region
have barely been part of the ICANN process. While attending ICANN meetings,
you come across the same old faces from the region, and when participating
in the proceedings of working groups, you will find the same usual names,
too. A handful of folks from the region cannot initiate a change, but 10s or
even 100s of active members can.

If we want to make this transition as satisfactory as possible, everyone has
to play their role. One hand cannot clap, but two hands can.

Hope that helps.

Dear Fahd,

Thank you very much for your e-mail.

We all have to play our roles, that is undestandable.

But, after all these years' performance (evidences are many, we all know
them), how can one refer to a "fact" as a "perception", sorry but that is
not understandable at least to me.

Nevertheless, applauses go to NTIA for the announcement.

All the best,

sezen

toGlobal Community

(sorry for cross posting)

Friends and Colleagues,

As there has been lots of news circulated on the U.S. Transfer of Key
Internet Stewardship to Global Community, the following is a one-stop email
for what has been released so far:

· NTIA Announcement --

key-internet-domain-name-functions

· ICANN Announcement --

· Reaction of Internet Technical Leaders --

· Reaction of ICANN's President and CEO (Video) --

· FAQ Sheet on the Process --

· Public Consultation Process --

As many have viewed ICANN and IANA to be US centric all these years, the
time has come to change this perception by jumping on-board and engaging in
the discussions. If we are to strengthen our regional Internet Governance
ecosystem and domain name industry, we have to all join the discussions.

Thank you,

Fahd Batayneh
