I second the motion to pick a logo, so that branding can be based on it. We also need a paragraph which describes the philosophy of nemo branding and a choice of colors.
Some things to stir up some creative thinking. How do we want nemo to feel? Serious, playful, cute, minimal? Nemo already has a variation of colors in the application title bars (and qt components). Thus there isn't a dominant nemo color. The darko theme plays with very subtle gradients, and shallow 3D effects. Low contrast textures go very well with this design style. Mer, nemo, are sea themed names and obviously blue is the first thing that comes to mind. Would we like to see nemo in high, mid or low end devices? Or all? Should marketing material look premium, or accessible to all? That is all that comes to my mind right now, but more of these generic questions always help when creating a brand, so if you got one shoot it, even if it seems obvious, or trivial. Regarding the banner, this will be used as well for social networks id's or more to share as an 'ad' to spread the word about Nemo/Mer ? Also, I think it is wise to create presences for both Nemo and Mer in separation for all networks, but perhaps Mer will be better served in "technical" oriented one where as Nemo could benefit more from more "relaxed" networks like Facebook for fan pages etc? (sorry if we've had this discussion before, I'd like to recoup) Best and thanks! -Sivan
