Thanks for all of your feedback. There are some interesting options for devices: the Galaxy Nexus would be good, since it can be used for other free operating systems, making it easy for Firefox OS or Ubuntu Phone developers to try out Mer/Nemo (and maybe get excited enough about the project to support it). The Nexus 7 would be good as well, since it has a touch screen. Without a touch screen, there are some things which might be difficult to test.
The ODROID-X, I actually had a look at that board a while ago and thought about getting one. After playing around with the Raspberry Pi in the past weeks it would be the better platform to use for testing, since the Pi's performance seems to be relatively limited, although it's a cool and affordable hardware.
