"Some like it heavy" There may be a reason that if merbherb is about "Merb, DM and related technologies", there is no currently a mailing list dedicated to the whole stack. And nobody can define what the stack is, because some use DataMapper with MooTools and some use jQuery with Sequel. Also, you can meet quite a few of active Merb and DM contributors on both lists :) But it is a question of branding. If guys are going to position their forum as "alternative technologies forum", this sounds scary. Alternative to what? Ruby already has 10 frameworks of all sizes, with completely different ideas behind them (compare Waves to Rails to Mack). And of course as we know from recent FUD patrol report there is only one web framework in Ruby that does not suck yet undervalued by people greatly (I hope the weather is ok in London and FUD patrol is finally happy), I think Ruby goes into 2009 as a language where web developers have *a lot* of options to choose from already. Especially in testing tools space. It no longer looks like an infant in this regard. A community of/for people who use all sorts of Ruby tools for web development sounds like an interesting idea, so maybe merbherb should be headed that way. But this name, you know... it is slightly biased towards one particular framework ;) -- MK --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "merb" group.
