Hi, The strombergs do have oil dampers, well the 175, as found in some Mercs, do anyway. You can see the black screws that access the oil resorvoir in these pics http://www-cdr.stanford.edu/~cutkosky/jh/ZH_pics/carbs.html if you still don't believe me then you can check out http://www.snic-braaapp.org/needle.pdf for a good pic of the actual damper.
