Make sure theres no paper in there, or anything else that could make some annoying little noise! ;)
Seriously, if its a thing in there, do you have maple trees? We had a lot of the little "helocopters" this year, they get into everything... -Curt --- On Tue, 7/1/08, Bill R <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Bill R <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: [MBZ] always on blower motor 1981 300SD To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], "'Mercedes Discussion List'" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Date: Tuesday, July 1, 2008, 7:09 PM Good advice. My 190D had exactly the same sort of thing. I took the cover off the fan (which also requires removing the windshield wiper and some other covers) and dripped some ATF onto the shafts (theres a fan on each end of the motor) and ran it for awhile. Then dripped in more ATF. Its been nearly 2 years like that now with no reoccurance. -Curt Date: Tue, 1 Jul 2008 16:41:42 -0400 From: "Bill R" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [MBZ] always on blower motor 1981 300SD To: "'Mercedes Discussion List'" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" A couple of months ago the 'always on' blower started chirping - sounds like a piece of paper got in there. It stopped for a few weeks, with just occasional chirps, but has now returned pretty much full time. It sometimes stops on turns, but the controllable fan doesn't affect it [a tiny bit sometimes]. Is this something a rank amateur can get into to get out whatever the fan is hitting? Any way to snake a wire claw into the vents to get at it that way?
