It may depend on the auto manufacturer. Our 03 Tacoma came with
Bridgestones on it and they lasted over 85,000 miles before they hit the
wear bar. Can't ask for more then that. Are you sure she isn't doing
some of that autocross or drifting on the side? =8-0 If so let me know
where, I want to avoid the area. :-)

Subject: [MBZ] Tires
My mother in law was in town this weekend (everyone made it out alive!)
and I noticed that her tires her completely bald. So, I started doing
some research and spent time trying to find her the best deals on
tires. It gave me something to do and was a relief. But, I am curious
about something. She has a 2008 Suzuki SX4. It's a cute little car
and she
really likes it. The car serves her needs because she wanted a new,
but cheap car, that got good mileage. It is small and she likes it. I
would hate driving it. But, it had Bridgestone Potenza tires on as the
OEM tire. Do the tire manufacturers make a different tire for OEM, than
they sell in the tire shops. The car only had 26,000 miles and the
tires were completely worn. I priced a bunch of tires and found a
replacement Bridgestone Potenza that was very highly rated. The
replacement
tire had a high wear rating (460) and was A rated for temp and
traction. It appears to me that bridgestone must make more than one
Potenza
(with the same letter designation) and one is the cheap version which is
used as OEM and then a replacement that is much better. I always
thought that if you bought the same model that they were the same. But,
the replacement tires (even with the same model designation) were
different from the originals.
