So seems like what I want to look for if I can afford it is a 606 3.5 turbo. Got to have more power you know.

OM 601, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606 should all bolt up to the same transmissions. 601-603 are two valves per cylinder, 604-606 are four valves per cylinder. All have hydraulic lifters and aluminum heads. I don't think the 604 and 605 were
sold in North America. 601 2.2L were sold in USA in 1984-85 in the 190D, 602
2.5l from 86-89. 300D W124 and 300SDL had the 603, 3.0L 6 cyl in the 1980's.
From 90-93, the 300d had the 602 turbo, followed by the 606 3.0L non turbo and finally the turbo 606 in 98-99. The US market S-class in the early 90's had the
603 3.5l rodbender engine.
