I was putting the car back together today after repairing the cruise control and lubricating the HVAC motors. While looking in the trunk for the screws I found _two_ radio code cards peeking out of a corner. They're even the right code.
Well, _that_ would have been better to find much earlier! For what it's worth, the 1990 cruise control box looks a lot like the earlier one, except that there is a 40-pin DIP in it. I don't know if it's an actual processor, or just an ASIC version of the earlier digital circuitry. In that time frame it could have gone either way. Regardless, resoldering (after using paint stripper and a wire brush) and a couple of new complementary power transistors and a diode brought it back to life. -- Jim _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
