So I guess off to the junkyard tomorrow or maybe some JBWeld, see if that does the trick.
Glue a piece of metal over the hole using JB Weld. Clean fanatically, maybe scratch up the area with a knife point or steel wool. A penny will do for metal, if you don't have anything you like better.
