I was recently trying to take the dash out of a W115 at the pull a part to replace the one in my 240D, but after taking off the bottom support rods, I couldn't figure out how to get to whatever is holding it behind the dash.

The center console was previously removed. Any tips?

I've replaced the fan on a W115 a little over 20 years ago. I've also
removed dashs from W123s ans W201s.

The W115 was by far the worst.

I even tried to drive the W115 without the dash and I forgot about the oil
pressure sensor line and felt the hot oil on my leg.

I tried to put my thumb over the line and drive back to my parking spot but
the pressure was too great and oil too hot.

Removing the dash on a W123 is child's play. I'm told, however, that
removing the dash on a 114/115 is the extreme opposite and takes about a day. That's why the death of the fan motor has often meant the death of the car; the process of getting to the fan is a little like unearthing the evap
unit on a W140.

Hey, it can't be _that_ bad! It's just a dash fer cryin

R'd an uncracked 123 once at the junkyard. (Still hanging
