in the prior incarnations of this list, Stern did sell lights to list
members for their Mercedes. If he quit, I don't know about that. There is

I read Stearn's rants before. I said nothing about any other vendor, just
a comment about Stern from prior experience. Stern's rants, if applied to
cars would be like this: Stern sells Maybach. He rants on and on about how
terrible every other product is. "If you don't buy a Maybach, you are
wasting your money."
Personally, I find driving a 20+ year old Mercedes to be a better value
(and more servicable) than buying a Maybach. That is why i take Stern's
rants with a shaker of salt.
Yes, the OE lights are good. Yes, some aisian knock-offs are bad. Yes,
some replacement lights are good, even though a Stern rant trashes them.
Yes, that is my opinion, and you can buy what you want.
FWIW, in the past, I bought 7" round Hellas. They are the only aftermarket
lights I have purchased. I did consider buying Euro 123 lights, and when
looking at the market, i decided i would buy aftermarket, (asian) and not
buy from stern, as his prices were very high. There are people who are very
anal retentive, and who will buy lights from stern. (they are ones who
clean the engine with a toothbrush) That is what the marketplace is all
about.
