Hello to all my old friends from the diesel list, Been a long time since I have posted here.
Some things have changed in my life since the days I used to stay up late reading through all the posts I had time for. I still feel my 83 240D is just about the ideal vehicle for me personally and I don't want to own anything else. But recently my wife and I discovered we are going to have our first child. And more recently we discovered that the child is going to have a birth defect. So my 240, which is one of our three cars has not made much sense for us to own for some time now, but things just got a whole lot more serious. Add to this the fact that it developed a clutch problem a few months ago and I have not made time to look at it. So it continues to take up a garage spot and not add anything to our lives except insurance and registration costs. To refresh your memories: No rust. Some 130 something K mi (I'd have to run to garage and check the odo). Engine was purchased used by us and installed and has about 10 K fewer miles than the vehicle. Manual windows, working electric sunroof. What else? Hmmm. Torn CV boots for which I made ingenious patches. Front end probably needs some work - loose steering of course. Dent in rear door that is not too obvious. Anyway, this is just a very early inquiry. I really don't want to sell. But wanted to gauge interest here first of course. We paid $1800 for the vehicle. Then had to pay another $1800 for a replacement engine installed. So I don't really know what I'd be asking. Happy to answer any questions.
