Disclaimer.  I only have experience with the rear-only system
on the 123 wagon.  No idea what might be different.

If it truly is the same as the 123, the valve is actually
pretty robust.  I don't know what "valve ball" they are
referring to - I didn't see any inside the valve I had apart.

But that still doesn't explain your problem.

Did the suspension level change when you broomsticked the
valve? It should.  I usually put blocks under the rear tires
and operate the valve by hand.
