Better yet, buy a fuel tank and have your local fuel delivery company bring you whatever flavor you need, probably at the same as average pump prices. I grew up in the country and we had a gasoline tank and natural gas tanks (Stove/oven) and monthly deliveries. I think you'll probably either need a contract or a minimum purchase amount, but both diesel and kerosene should last for years with no problems. Maybe just a couple or four 55 gallon drums?
I've thought about doing that at my current house, but I'll bet that there's an ordinance or POA covenant against it, and I don't really have a need that would justify the up-front expense. -Max -----Original Message----- From: mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of Allan Streib Sent: Sunday, January 02, 2011 1:16 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] torpedo heaters "Kaleb C. Around here some of the gas stations sell bulk kerosene out of a pump. I haven't ever looked at what the price is, though I would guess it's cheaper than diesel because there's no road tax on it. Then again maybe not...
