Maybe its just a little piece of broken catalyst. Pull the cat off and shake it around, maybe it'll fall out.

Comes and goes. I figured it was the motor mounts. Replaced them today, they were shot. Idles much more smooth but I still have the annoying rattle. I traced it down to something rattling around inside the right cat converter. It can get to rattling just right to where it almost sounds like a rod knocking or something. Anyway, what to do about this? I see rusty wants about $560 for the front exhaust section that includes the cat. I sure dont think I want to spend that. Maybe I should pull it down, cut a u shape flap in the top of it and clean (hollow) it out and have it welded back. Any other ideas or a source for cheap exhaust parts? -- Kaleb C.
