In the early 80s C&D builtup a W123 wagon for the editor David E Davis. They painted the upper part silver and dark from the body line down and added custom wheel, a sound system with multiple speakers in each door, along with some other modes I don;t recall. It looked really nice!
The funniest part of that story was when it collided with a TV someone left sitting on the freeway.
