Well, codes say that front heated O2 sensor is bad (new), as well as some of the evaporative control valves (which have been bad for the last 100k miles). There's a couple of other codes I need to look up. O2 sensor should not cause the engine to die by itself.
According to the manual, the crank position sensor logic has a "fail safe" limp home mode, so that probably isn't the problem either. -Max -----Original Message----- From: mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of Rich Thomas Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2011 5:03 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] OT '96 Infiniti I30 woe Some sort of sensor or coil that does not like getting hot. Unless it has thrown a code it might be hard to figure out. You could try jiggling various connectors to make sure nothing is lose. --R On 9/20/11 4:21 PM, Max Dillon wrote: > SWMBO's car, '96 Infiniti I30, 204k miles, has begun to act up in the last > couple days.
