Actually, a couple of points. The G5 was the Professional Mac during a
period when Apple was very heavily pushing the Xserve. Of course you can't
turn it sideways and mount it in a standard rack. You want a rackable Mac,
you buy the Xserve. It was designed overlarge on purpose. The Mac Pro is
essentially the same case as the G5, so even though the Xserve has now
died, you still can't rack a Mac Pro sideways. You can, however, rack
either a G5 or Pro vertically.

While I loved Jobs vision and ability to raise my stock price, he had a
very love/hate relationship with corporate America. Jobs didn't much care
about the success of the Enterprise. Tim Cook, however, is very Enterprise
friendly and has been not only talking to corporate America for years, but
also to Jobs about the need to corner the Enterprise market. We can
probably expect another rack friendly Mac sometime in the near future.
Provided Cook doesn't feel Jobs pissed Enterprise off so much that they
simply won't buy it out of spite.
