Jim - Here is another possibility. Remove the hard top and release the U shaped cover over the soft top. You should be able to spot some foam rubber pads on the underside of the cover to keep the folded soft top frame from bouncing up and hitting the cover. Don't ask me how I could possibly know this. :^) Was driving me nuts on a rough road.
