'Had my fill of wind in the face and whipping all around in '31, '37 and '49 Fords, '51, '53, '54, '55, '56, '57 Chevys, '61 Pontiac (which I stupidly ordered new without AC and less than 6 months later, had it installed), '64 Karman Ghia, '64 Dodge Van, etc. 'Don't need anymore wind in the face and whipping around me; 'rather have it quiet and cool (or warm as the case may require). I agree, mine is a 1991 and I doubt that will ever sell it. It drinks gas like a pig but the ride makes up for it.

I use mine all the time. I have driven rag tops since I was 16 and love the wind. When I lower the windows and open the roof on my 126 coupe, it is close to having no top. Great feeling.

And I hope you continue to enjoy it. 'Having grown with none, I enjoy
having automatic 'nitionin' in mine too much to mess around with a hole in
the roof.

My rule is to NEVER open the sunroof on a used Mercedes - it's just begging
for trouble.

I assumed my '99 E320 wagon had an improved popup glass sunroof, not
susceptible
to the problems that make me afraid to use the sunroof in a 124 or newer
201.

Today, whatever mechanism moves the sunroof doesn't seem to be working on
the
left side. I opened it and it went halfway as usual, then when I hit the
switch
again to open it the rest of the way it jammed. When I got out of the car I
could see that it wasn't opened evenly, and I managed to shut it by
shoving the
left side forward by hand as I worked the switch. But when it closed, the
right
side rose up flush with the roof and left rear corner stayed down. I took
the
cover off the emergency crank hole and can see it turn when the motor
runs, so
the crank won't help me any.

How do I operate the mechanism that raises the left rear corner of the roof
panel, so I can get it sealed and leave it that way until I'm ready (if
ever) to
rebuild the roof?

Does anybody have the 210 roof .pdf file?

Mitch.
