Provided you're talking about a conventional diesel with a fuel lubricated
pump, yes. This is not the case with the powerchoke.

Catalytic systems are intrusively expensive on a powerchoke. Not to mention
the other oddities under the hood to make it do what it does that is fairly
fussy on fuel quality, not like a 6v53 that will burn anything you put
in the tank without caring.
