But in so many modern cars where the engine is a tight squeeze under the hood (and in a lot of older cars too) the typical generic hose that comes off a big reel at FLAPS won't do it, because the bends are too sharp. The hose is flexible enough to handle gentle radius bends, but too tight a bend and it kinks. What's needed is generic hose premolded with a variety of bends at different angles, and standardized fittings to join one piece to another, kind of like exhaust or PVC pipe.
