It is my opinion that no cop should engage in a chase involving 150 mph speeds.
It's better to let the guy go than put other innocent people at risk should an
inevitable collision occur.

Upon reflection, I find that my experience with the criminal mind is such
that I am unqualified to deduce that the car thief would check the speed
rating of tires on the stolen car as a qualifying condition to exceed the
bounds of common sense. Therefore I recuse myself.

I do however nominate the aforementioned thief for the Darwin Award.

Perhaps the original question re tire selection failed to consider the
limited capacity of professional thief to do pre-theft tire changes in
preparation of high speed runs from police.

My cars tires are rated faster than the speed cut.

Then again, you can't get Falken tires in the style I have unless they are
Z rated (149+ mph)... :/

Walt, who is dreading tire change time...

The miscreants stolen Hertz Camaro had 4 flat tires... the cop car had

I raise sincere doubt the rental Camaro would do 150. Could I see the
chase
video on that with the GPS screen link?

Speaking of 150mph, just yesterday morning a miscreant stole a 2012
Hertz
Camaro at Sea-Tac airport and took off southbound. He was spotted down
in
Thurston County by a Deputy who reported that he was behind the Camaro
at
150mph. He was finally stopped by spike strips.

I wonder what kind of tires the two cars had on them.
