While we're on the subject, the Duke Power - Progress Energy merger is approved-ish so there will probably be some jobs in the Charlotte area, according to my father (at Westinghouse in Columbia). I will ask him tomorrow if he knows of any other openings/new plants/etc. I assume you are looking for light to no travel? There are lots of opportunities in China from what I understand.
