So I have new brakes and rotors on my '97 F-250HD Crew Cab 4X4. My mechanic says "1000 mi. break-in period, but certainly at least 120 mi." before I tow my 5er with it. So I thought I'd look up some 'net wisdom:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/saturday-mechanic-blog/how-to-br eak-in-a-new-car says no break-in needed, but no high spped stops or dragging brakes for a while. http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=85 has different procedures for different brands of pads. Any comments?
