Sort of true of both Winnipeg and Ottawa but they are about 1200 miles
apart. Ottawa is near Montreal on the Quebec border. Winnipeg is north
of North Dakota. We are within a few miles of the longitudinal center of
Canada. I drive by the sign every time I go to the lake.

like ballet and theater and that may well be partly because of our isolation as

And of course, if one talks to the sports fans, we also have NHL hockey once
again. However, if the US dollar ever climbs back out of the dumpster, that
hockey team is going to be very expensive and may not survive.
