I have a cousin who hit 3 moose about 40 years ago. He was roaring
down a gravel country road and came over a rise and there were 5
moose standing on the road. He took out 3 of them but had the sense
to throw himself down on the seat so he did not get hurt. Try that
today with bucket seats and consoles and shoulder belts etc. Back
then the car had a bench seat and no seatbelts.
