There are a few 300TDs and 240Ds with manual transmission, usually with
cloth seats, running around the USA due to the grey market activity of
the late 1970s and early 1980s. I've never seen a manual 300D from that
era, seems like everybody who wanted a euro sedan with a clutch pedal
got a 240D instead.

My '83 240D has standard plastic Mercedes seat covers, manual A/C and
heat, manual window cranks, 3 speed manual transmission, manual
punch-a-button Becker radio, and several other unusual items. German
professor spec'd it out and picked it up in Germany. I bought it from
him when it was five years old.
