Had a dealer tell me that combining the factory 18.5" barrel with the factory pistol grip would make it too short and require me to register it as a handgun, I assume under Michigan state law. Playing around with the buttstock and pistol grip replacement stock I didn't see much advantage to the pistol grip, it just removed the option of firing from the shoulder. So the pistol grip sits in a drawer somewhere, and the shotgun sits in the bedroom with full length stock,18.5" barrel, and mixture of slugs and buckshot in the magazine.
