I have experienced the sun/heat in September in Phoenix. Learned not to wear shorts when driving a car with a black interior, and also learned why everyone used sunshades on their windshield.
Florida is nearly as bad, although we don't have the extreme heat, high 90s and 100% humidity. The sun is as intense if not more, so many of the effects are similar. One of the first accessories I purchased for the car was a windshield sunshade. I use it religiously.
