Sounds like a little overkill, but it will work well. Start the process
with the valve completely open and then close it gradually until you have
sufficient oil flow. Remember, the process is not instantaneous, so don't
be tempted to close the valve too much. Monitor the bucket and open the
valve if the bucket is starting to collapse.

A multi-turn bonnet valve may allow more adjustability than a ball valve,
though the latter may provide less restriction when fully open.
