Huh? Didn't know that.
I do know that some of the Coast Guard "crew" on Nantucket picked up a derelict one day and gave him a ride into town in the base's pickup. Jimmy Buffet was on the radio. When the guy they'd picked up started singing along like a twin, they knew .... Those were his "dark days." I like Jimmy. And this isn't an urban legend ... I heard it first-hand from the guy who was driving the pickup. And I doubt if he really owns an Albatross, but could be. They sure do suck down the gas, leak oil, and are a bear to fly (I know -- I've flown them). We'd suck down 4050 lbs. of fuel (allowing for get-home reserve) on an eight hour flight. Maybe he has deep pockets, or maybe the residuals are paying off.
