Didn't know that.

I do know that some of the  Coast Guard "crew"  on Nantucket picked up a
derelict one day and gave him a ride into town in the base's pickup. Jimmy
Buffet was on the radio. When the guy they'd picked up started singing along
like a twin, they knew ....

Those were his "dark days."

I like Jimmy.

And this isn't an urban legend ... I heard it first-hand from the guy who
was driving the pickup.

And I doubt if he really owns an Albatross, but could be. They sure do suck
down the gas, leak oil, and are a bear to fly (I know -- I've flown them).
We'd suck down 4050 lbs. of fuel (allowing for get-home reserve) on an eight
hour flight.

Maybe he has deep pockets, or maybe the residuals are paying off.
