They can LOOK perfect but have a hairline crack. My 78 240D drove me crazy looking all over for relays, grounds, etc before I saw the fuse arc when my wife pressed the brake pedal! I must have checked the fuses 3 times before finding that small crack!

Replace them!

7 fuses involved Wilton. I pulled every fuse out, checked and cleaned it and 
put it back. Not the same as replacing them but they all look perfect.

Don't these cars have a master relay or something similar that can die?

Back in the day some folks would carry a spare.
