Being a Bavarian, he is probably partial to BMW. As a youngster, he helped man an anti-aircraft battery outside a BMW plant at the very end of the war. He deserted, was held by the US as a POW for a while, then released. Desertion is un-cool in general, but he was not very keen on the Nazis. Chris
