Being a Bavarian, he is probably partial to BMW.  As a youngster, he helped man 
an anti-aircraft battery outside a BMW  plant at the very end of the war. He 
deserted, was held by the US as a  POW for a while, then released.

One of the '76 300D's had an oozing mirror - but it's the only car
i've had with one. Maybe all the rest were defective?
