And beats the heck out of not seeing it until after you have $500-1000 in shipping costs and have already fully paid the seller. I prefer to give the seller nothing until I've seen the car and made sure there are no glaring misrepresentations. I bought two eBay cars. Both times I talked to the seller quite a bit on the phone, and both times I traveled to the car and picked it up. I rode Amtrak to the pick up the 16v. When I got the 300SD in Florida, three of us drove down, bought a cube van and the SD, then drove back together.
