Meanwhile you almost killed my buzz for getting my mini-split system
running in the addition. I now have heat! I have had it all installed
save for connecting the lines and charging the system, and was waiting
to get my new power lines run, but then I got thinking I could take
power off my temp pole box and run it to the system. The box is like
those at RV camps apparently, 2-20A plugs and a 60A 220V plug. I bought
a plug, had some heavy wire, bought a breaker box and put in a 30A
breaker off that 60A line, then ran some line to the shutoff at the
outdoor unit, disconnecting the wire from my new panel. It is kind of a
bodge, but the inspector was by the other day and said it was OK for
some temp temps. I had an HVAC guy come by to get it going (so I can
get the warranty on the units), and now I have heat!!! No more propane
heater to get it warmed up on cold mornings. I am so excited!
LG 36k BTU mini-split heat pump with 4 head units (2-12k, 2-9k), I can
barely tell the outdoor unit is running, the indoor units are mostly
silent even at high fan speed. Awesome system.
