I was originally going to guess the cheap junk pads you'd bought cheap. I got a set from Car Quest (the better quality, red maybe?) for the rears my 190D and they were thick, took an awful long time for them to bed in. The last thing I ever bought from Q was a set of front pads for that car, they had no such troubles. I probably shoulda gone to Dr Fatty but realized I needed the brakes done on a Friday and needed the car on Monday.
