Philip, A good plumber knows how to repair a copper pipe with water in it. Now, if it's a pipe full of water, no, but a drip or trickle can be dealt with. I too had a house with the plastic in it years ago and was lucky to get most of it replaced by a test group that wanted a lot of it to test in their lab. When I built my current house in 1999, I had it completely built with copper. I have had zero problems in 15 years. Best wishes, Roger Roger Hale Dinnerware Classics, Inc.
