The problem is that then your existence becomes regimented. Suppose you decide on your commute back that you need to stop by place X or some urgent matter comes up and you need to drive to place Y? You have to drive home and swap cars. Majorly inconvenient if you ask me. Until an electric car can be developed with a real range I don't have any interest in buying one.
